In Hindu religion, marriage means love, companionship and commitment. Hindu traditional wedding is celebrated many days. The rituals of Hindu wedding are based on ‘Vedic’ customs. The main ritual is performed on wedding day. However before it both side bride and groom perform their own traditional and family rituals like Mahandi Rasam and more.

On wedding day bride puts a garland on groom’s neck. It means that bride has accepted groom as her husband with her free will. Like this groom also puts a garland on bride’s neck and accepts her as wife. After this ritual “Saat Phere” ritual is performed in which bride and groom both round seven times around sacred fire. In each round both take promises regards of each other.

‘Mangalsutra’ has very special importance in Hindu wedding. It is a symbol of a married Hindu woman as well as is a holy bond of goodwill and love. Therefore Hindu wedding is known all over the world for its traditional rituals.
